Savoring the Good

We're wired to focus on what's wrong. It's why an upsetting email will stay with us all afternoon, while a lovely dinner is forgotten by the time we get up from the table. It's not that the upsetting things don't deserve attention, it's that we don't give the good things enough of it. We'd be happier if we spent more time savoring the good - not only while it's happening, but by coming back to think about it again later. Let your mind rest on the good. This is the month for it.
