Shop for your groceries, or let your chef shop for you

We'll provide you with a detailed grocery shopping list so that you can pick up all the ingredients your chef needs to whip up your meals. Or, utilize our add-on service and have your chef do the shopping.

Personal chef comes to you

Your chef will prepare five delicious dishes for you (and up to six servings of each) in your home, and leave you with a fridge stocked full of tasty meals and a spotlessly clean kitchen.

Q. What is EasyFeast?

A. With EasyFeast, just a few clicks books a personal chef to arrive at your doorstep to cook for you, leaving you with a fridge stocked full of personalized meals - all for a reasonable price. We prepare dishes that your household can mix and match and enjoy throughout the week. 

Q. What does it cost?

A. Our service fee is $170. If you elect to have your chef purchase your groceries for you, you will be charged an additional $40, plus the cost of groceries.

Q. Can you please explain how groceries will be handled?

A. We're able to deliver a high-end service at a reasonable price by asking our clients to be responsible for procuring their own groceries. (Don't worry, we'll give you a detailed shopping list!) That said, for a completely seamless experience, clients can pay an extra $40 and have their chef do all of the shopping and arrive with all of the groceries needed for the booking.

Q. How many meals do I get?

A. Your chef will prepare five dishes for you in either a small (1-2 servings), medium (3-4 servings) or large (5-6 servings) size. These dishes are meant to be mixed and matched, and typically cover two to four nights' worth of meals. (For example, five dishes in our largest portion size could feed four people for three nights.)

Q. What kind of food will my chef prepare for me?

A. Our speciality is traditional American family fare with a healthy twist. Our dishes are hearty, loaded with nutritious ingredients and hidden vegetables, and are meant to work for the whole family (not just the adults!) For example, we frequently get repeat requests for our lemon-herb roasted chicken, kale meatballs and spaghetti with homemade tomato sauce, and roasted assorted vegetables (just to name a few). Our dishes are designed for dinner, but can also be great for lunch. Q. How are the meals packaged? 

A. We will use whatever Tupperware you have. If you're wondering what types are best, here are our recommendations:

  • A set of tempered glass containers like these, because they can go straight from the fridge to the microwave or oven. There is some evidence that glass is the safest material for food storage, and they'll look really nice in your fridge too.

  • These deli-style quart-containers come in so handy! They are dishwasher safe and reusable, and perfect for storing soups and grains.

  • Ziploc bags work best for storing dishes like salads and baked goods.

Q. Do I have to be home?

A. We recommend that you be home to greet your chef when he or she arrives, so that you can introduce your chef to your kitchen and equipment. However, we encourage you to come and go as you please.

Q. My kitchen is tiny/I don't even know if the oven works/I hardly have any cooking equipment. Can you accommodate me?

A. Tiny kitchen, no problem! It does, however, need to be functioning. That means a working oven, stovetop, sink and refrigerator.

You also need to have the following basic cooking equipment: baking sheets, blender or food processor, can opener, casserole dish, chef's knife, cutting board, grater, loaf pan, measuring utensils, mixing bowls, peeler, pot, skillet or frying pan, spatula and a strainer.

Plus, make sure to keep the following supplies in stock: Tupperware containers (a bunch of them!), Ziploc bags, aluminum foil, parchment paper and cleaning supplies (e.g., dish towels, soap, paper towels, sponges.)

Q. What geographic area do you serve?

A. We currently provide services within Manhattan.

Q. Can you accommodate my allergy/dietary restriction?

A. We are currently best suited to accommodate clients with dairy and gluten allergies. For all other allergies or dietary needs, please email us at info@easyfeast.com to make sure that we can safely accommodate you. 

Q. Should I tip my chef?

A. No, there is no need to tip your chef; the tip is already included in the service price. (The best way to recognize outstanding service is to leave your chef a great review in the feedback survey you will receive after your booking.)

Q. What is your cancellation policy?

A. If your plans change, you can cancel or modify your booking up to 48 hours before your service without penalty (though we greatly appreciate as much advance notice as possible!) Cancellations or changes made within 48 hours of the start of your booking will be charged the full service fee and the cost of any groceries that have already been purchased on your behalf.
